Where I live, some of the most unethical people get voted in to political positions merely because of their ethnic background and the city never seems to improve in the areas of education etc. Lots of money just "disappears" and nothing ever seems to get done about it. Political patronage is rampant, crime is high, illiteracy is high, average income is low, but at least we have more parties here than anywhere else. You might have already guessed that I live in the New Orleans area.
