Jeff, It appears that we think alike on this issue, but are using different words. Actually, I am fairly hawkish in my approach to world problems. Especially those the affect the US. One can only make the decision to take a life to protect another when a situation arises that requires an answer to that question, one way or the other. No one can predict how they will react until it becomes necessary to do so. Many men, who were considered heroes at home, for one reason or the other, choked when the time came to make that decision in a battle. Many of them died because of their hesitation, and in far too many cases, caused the death of comrades at the same time. To face that situation must be the ultimate challenge to any person.
