Vice-president Fred weber the larger hammer execution with 1 MByte L2-Cache achieves this value with a clock frequency of 2 GHz according to AMDs. Weber had thereby the Pentium 4 with 2 GHz in the visor and knew the numbers for the Power4 with 1,3 GHz clock, indicated by IBM, not yet, which exceeds the Pentium 4 at the SPECint by 23 per cent.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if it turned out AMD ran into a glitch in its mobile production, and Intel shot itself in the ASP for nothing?

Very unlikely. Intel's sources of information are way too good for to have been responding to anything but a certain defeat in the mobile segment.
