You cannot deny, if you know the history of the region that Jews were attached by Arabs in their historic homeland since the middle of the 19th century. This accelerated after Herzel called for a statehood in '98. The riots in 1905 and the eviction of long time Jews homeowners from Hebron (along with the murder of around 100 Jews) in 1929 are documented. On a semipersonal level, my wife's family who had lived in Hebron for hundreds of years were victims of the Hebron riots of 1929, although they managed to not get killed.
