The last mother of all bears in the market was 1973-1974 right after the Nasdaq started. So you have to go further back in history and most certainly then have to focus on the Dow. And in the Dow, going back to 1896, the prior four cycle low (in this case, 1998) has been taken out in a subsequent four year cycle low (2002?) on several occasions in similar circumstances.
