Shahid means one who surrenders. It refers to all those who believe in god and live their life in complete
submission. Very similar to what Bible asks its follower. How that translates to blowing up yourself and kill innocent victims, I don't know.


If one thinks that it is the will of Allah that Muslims should blow themselves up to kill non Muslims then submission to his will would involve doing that. But I doubt that the Koran mentions suicide bombings. Instead young men (and now young women or girls) are told by terrorist leaders and radical Islamic religious figures that these attacks are the will of Allah, and the younger people either believe it or are pressured in to making the suicide attacks.
