I've read a bit about Hitler's background, but I'm not that familiar with it. Anti-Semitism has long been common in central and Eastern Europe and Russia, often spurred on by Christian churches. Hitler also fell under the influence of the philosophy of a Madam Blavatsky, a Russian (I believe) mystic. This is were he picked up the idea od the pure Aryan race. blavatsky.net His nationalism appears to have arisen as a result of his service with the German Army in WW1 and the aftermath of WW1.
