Dan,
RE: Poor Intel - I almost feel sorry for them.

Crush them like the venomous snake they are.

They would spare no sympathy for AMD

Dan3:

"The shrillness coming from the Intel camp may indicate that Thoroughbred is going to be a little better than we've come to expect."

From the Annual Statement: "We believe the migration to 130-nm technolgy will widen our existing competitive advantage over INTC's newest "Northwood" version of the Pentium 4 processor. With some 37 million trtansistors packed onto a chip that is only 80 mm sq. - approximately 45% smaller than the Northwood chip - our Thoroughbred version of AMD Athlon XP processor represents the marriage of ingenious design and leading-edge process technology. We expect to complete the transition to 130-nm by the end of the year."

I like the part "will widen our existing competitive advantage"...If AMD does it right, T-bred will bridge rather nicely the Athy XP to the Hammer...I would expect a major amount of AMD accumulation to take place if T-bred wins performance accolades...Just have to sit tight for the time being amidst the growing anxiety of the INTC crowd!!! (I'd be anxious too, if I held INTC shares at $30...Nothing to fend Hammer with other than p4, which has its hands full competing with Athy XP...HUGE INTC risk imo!!!)
