Not at all. I agree with John Stuart Mill that it is better to have two parties, one more eager to innovate, one more cautious. However, in my vision, both would be conservative in the broadest sense, that is, in commitment to the West, just as both would be liberal in the sense of embracing the liberal democratic order. In the nearer term, though, I would prefer more liberty of action for the Republican Party, and therefore some greater electoral success......
