What makes you an authority on US Government statistics?

The employment numbers are estimates, collected two different ways (the household survey and from sampling of payroll tax returns), which are subject to revisions as the data quality improves with time and to adjustment for seasonal factors.

It is always a mistake to draw any conclusion from one month's numbers, for these reasons. What is important is the moving average, which clearly illustrates the employment trend.

Have you looked at past payroll statistics and concluded that the government consistently overestimates the first estimate?
