How foolish is that? Any investor should take some precautions, and blaming AMD doesn't negate his responsibility. To top his foolishness off, that last sentence, about holding on because others said AMD was going to the moon, just indicates how savy this guy really is. If he really believed AMD was dead money, he should cut his loses, and find another stock going to the moon; why stick with AMD. He has only himself to blame; however, I must say that I have been known to stick too long with a stock now and then also. On the other hand, I have sold some too early. Go figure. They still have to ensure that Hammer can be manufactured with good yields, that they can market and sell it based on improved performance, that they can control costs, that they can build infrastructure, and that they can still execute on future product lines.<<<<< Amen to that. If AMD puts 100% of available resources on Hammer, then there is nothing else in the pipeline, and eventually Intel will have something better. That's why Hammer needs to be a step in the right direction, but my impression from Jerry is that AMD has put all their resources in one place. << I don't agree with that at all. Look at Intel. Intel is losing a billion a quarter from all of its products, other than CPUs and chipsets. All of Intels eggs are in the P4 basket, like it or not. That said, let me remind you that most companies do better if they focus on their best products, and not get spread out. But I will continue to hold my positions in hopes that AMD executes better, and that given the amount of momentum on Hammer, that AMD can at least execute well on that one project. <<<<< I also would throw Mirrorbit flash into the mix. If either, or both fail, be cautious; if both suceed, hold on with both hands.
