Of course it's not a reason to abandon attempts to establish criteria.

But if on Sunday afternoon, so close after his sermon about adultery, the preacher is found having oral sex with the deacon's wife in the rectory, and defends himself by arguing that "word choice" and "context," not to mention that she started it, proved that he hadn't had sex with that woman, he'd only engaged in "inappropriate behavior," it might be reasonable to keep in mind the effect of his motivation on his perception when listening to his future sermons!

That is nonsense. Parody is a very legitmate form of criticism. And you had invited criticism.

Apparently you consider criticism which you do not agree with as "disrespectful". Golly...you certainly have a lot of rules as to how others are permitted to treat you, eh?
