Dorine, reports circulated on tv suggested Bush gave Israel a nod and a wink to go after the Palestinians. Here are suggestions for why the Bush administration favors Israel over Palestinian claims: 1) Israel is our only ally in the Middle East. Recent polls suggest 80% of Saudis hate Americans because of Sharon's treatment of the Palestinians. 2) The US needs an ally in the Middle East to protect its oil interest. 3) To protect the US oil interest, the US needs bases for military aircraft to take off and land. 4) Jeb Bush counts on the Jewish vote to win Florida 5) Bush wants the Jewish vote in New York. ["He was CHOSEN because they new they could control him".] I agree. Sharon is smarter than Bush.
