arafat was offered ~95% of the land including Jerusalem as a capital and US guarantees and financial help from both US and Israel during Clinton administration. That was the hell of a deal and yet not enough. Clear indication that would never be enough even if they would manage to destroy Israel.
I am not against palestinians even though at that point majority of the strongly pro-terrorism and ant-Isral and anti-west. But I do believe that Palestinian government should take actions against terrorism when it is needed. Arafat not only did not not take the action against terrorism but financed them as per captured documents.
US itself should actively engage / invade arafat after Bush proclaimed war on terrorism. Anything else would be viewed as a sign of weakness and would encourage actions against US as well
