As I said before...the past is behind everybody..East, West, and in the middle.

The Old Testament chronicles the history of a "Chosen People" who eventualy embraced a montheistic God. Almost all religions (and there have been thousands) have begun around a "chosen people", generally to preserve or favour a certain race or "in-group". The Old Testament also puts a great emphasis on "Race" and is entirely opposed to any idea of "kinship" between races.
