With much apprehension I agree Frank. I have two young sons who will likely be exposed to the dangers of defending our freedom from this seemingly inevitable collision course between civilizations.

I hope they can implode with as little damage to the West as possible.

Frank,

Re: We are entering a new world and the only thing we can be certain of is that it will be characterized by more uncertainty, violence and an unstable supply of oil.---

I completely disagree with you regarding the notion of an unstable supply of oil. The world's oil market is more diverse today than at any time in history. Should the MidEast supply be disrupted, there is every reason to believe that there would be no more than a temporary price spike, inasmuch as any successor regimes to those involved in any military operations and/or coups would necessarily need to recommence distribution of oil ASAP unless the regime wishes ongoing civil unrest. All of the oil producing countries of the MidEast are as dependent on the flow of oil as the West is.

Here's some interesting, somewhat unconventional views of our distorted and distorting relationship with the royal house of Saud:

Frank,

Did you watch the 1st episode of "Commanding Heights" on PBS? What I came away with from the show was how unique the last decade has been. Our world (western world) has had very little turmoil and disruption since the gulf war.

I agree with you, when I hear the talking heads on TV discussing whether or not to send US troops to Isreal, it's getting bad. Plus there doesn't seem to any common ground.

I'm with Dabum, my gains this year (up 35%)have me set, so why get greedy. Sold off all of my HC yesterday morning. May buy back next week if HC continues to trend down. maybe.. I want to get back to 50% plus cash. Better buying opportunities are coming.
