Is that 5 HR's in three or four games?

Simply amazing.

Even more amazing is why pitchers still throw him fastballs.
Especially without Jeff Kent batting behind him...

Jazzcat,

I'm not merely "very happy"; I'm ecstatically wondering whether Bonds will hit more than 100 HR this year and whether the Giants' pitching can continue to post an ERA below 1.00. <G>

Bonds was a Serra guy, but went sideways by attending ASU. I think he's redeemed himself.

Outstanding. Thank' for that; I didn't catch the news yesterday. Here's a link from my local daily. Re 2nd article on Banks...Banks and Bonds...what's that all about?

pressdemocrat.com

Theydon't have yesterday's paper archived yet, but it listed some of his stats from last year. All-time MLB bests...HR,BB, slg%, AB/HR, HR/100 AB. Undoubtedly the best single season offensively ever.

OK, I'll say it. This guy is the best to play the game, even if his career ends today. Better than his dad (not a big deal), better than his godfather,Willie Mays( a really BIG deal). Great fielder, great base runner (at least until last season, when he didn't have much of a chance), pretty good with the stick. Doesn't pitch as well as Babe Ruth, but you can't have everything. He gets that bat around so quickly.
