sandintoes, Unfortunately, almost all of my true friends are dead now. If I know that a good acquaintance has a vastly different approach to politics than I do, I try to refrain from discussing politics to keep the peace. Those that have made it known that they are Conservative, and I have conversations about politics. Of the five, tried and true, friends that I once had, most of them felt, basically, the same way I did, but there were differences on minor details that would become the source of "knock down, drag out" brawls. Not physically, of course. But you can do that with true friends. The catch there is, that very good friends, as opposed to acquaintances, are very hard to come by.
