Clearly, the evidence is unavoidably circumstantial, and there are no perfectly reliable sources - can there be any? - but I think it is difficult to avoid discerning a connection.

I would lay bets that some very convincing and uncircumstantial evidence of the al Qaeda-Hizbullah-PLO alliance is winging its way to Washington even as we speak. Gathering evidence that will convince even the dolts in Foggy Bottom is one main objective of the current Israeli campaign.

I'm with you on the circumstantial character of the evidence and much hinges on Debka's credibility on these kinds of questions. But I'm not persuaded. I can't quite use this evidence to get to your last point.

But I do think that the longer the Israeli occupation lasts the more the ground of solidarity and anger among Palestinians increases to the point that the link becomes acceptable to them.
