I disagree, though maybe I should justify the statement. If you're comparing the Israeli government to that of the U.S., then yes, there is religion in Israeli politics. However, it's not a real theocracy in the way the Islamic states are. In most decisions made by the Knesset, there's a conscious effort to separate church and state. Most of the religious involvement has to do with keeping some sort of Jewish character in the state, such as the Jewish right of return.
