This is the Judeo-Christain formula of be good, or go to hell! Good grief. Don't pin that one on moi. I don't think it has anything to do with being good or going to hell. I think it's about the natural tendency of too many people to be irresponsible and a natural tendency to freeload. I don't think society can positively reinforce that and stay healthy. I'm not advocating failure, only that there has to be a real risk of failure or too many people will take the easy path and pass their ignorance along to their kids. It's just human nature.
