Enron's plan went around and corrupted FERC. They hoodwinked FERC and everyone else. Enron and their cronies. FERC was supposed to be in charge but they were totally out to lunch. Or in someone's pocket. Enron and the Texas crew pulled a magnificent overwhelming swindle on everyone and helped Bush into the White House at the same time. Their intimate connections with Bush made them people you didn't want to F with at the time too so no one questioned them until much later.

As for Gore, he made mistakes as a candidate, was unlucky with Nader and will not get another chance. I was very disappointed in him because many of his ideas were stellar but his presentation was not. Next time they will pick a stronger candidate. John Kerry I think will be the one. Kerry-Edwards. And they will be a hard team to beat. Not only is Kerry the best qualified (including being a Silver Star military hero) but he has mucho bucks behind him. Married to a VERY rich republican woman, the wife of late GOP Senator Heinz, heir to Heinz catsup/pet foods. Kerry is also a killer debater, campaigner and television powerhouse. One of the most intelligent as well as moderate macho men in DC. Has six inches on Bush too, in height I mean (and maybe another place, who knows?). He certainly has it over Bush in terms of showing balls in life. Bush avoided the Vietnam War like the plague. Kerry was leading the Special Operators up the Mekong risking his life every minute. Personally, I admire than a lot more than being an spoiled rich kid ex-president's son, ex-alcoholic and failed oil company president.
