ZH - Real contradiction building up. Almost all the serious economists are predicting huge growth in the economy this year and the CEOs on the other hand see nothing but gloom.

Same old 2H recovery but the numbers are beginning to show it is actually happening.

On the other hand the CEOs weren't all that good at predicting the collapse. The MSFT CFO did say in Nov 2000 that there business had suddenly fallen off dramtically and about two weeks or so before hand and they are probably the best global indicator.

On the other hand today FedEx and the truckers haven't yet seen pick-up of the kind of order of magnitude that the economists are predicting.

I'd like to hear what the economists say about that.

BTW I don't think the market would have done anything very different in the last week or so had there been no increase in tension in the Middle East.

Best,

L

Zeev, what's your best guess as to how the big defense contractors such as BA,GD,LMT,NOC, etc. will react, stock price-wise, if and when the U.S.goes into Iraq?
(Holding BA.)
