I had a dream last Wednesday night. In the dream I'm playing basketball; hitting shot after shot and rather pleased with my game. Then I look down and see that the ball I'm dribbling up court isn't really a ball; it's a cat, curled up in a ball. I look at him, he looks at me. He doesn't seem pleased. I shake Suzy awake, tell her my dream. She mumbles, calls me a bad name, rolls away from me and soon finds sleep. What does it mean, this dream? Later, when Suzy arises I tell her my dream. She looks at me with the look she usually reserves for the village idiot. The dream stayed with me all day. Late in the afternoon I read a post from a trader who said that he was looking for a dead-cat bounce in GMST. A dead-cat bounce! It all clicked into place, like the tumblers on a sophisticated combination-lock. My dream made sense! I was thinking, subconsciously, about a dead-cat bounce. I pulled up the GMST chart. A sharp gap down on Tuesday; an inside day on Wednesday. And on Thursday and Friday a lovely dead-cat bounce. Damn, I missed it. Listen to your dreams traders; a word to the wise.
