Ted, thread Check out this article: usatoday.com Could it be that we are on the verge of a significant shortage of usable bandwidth by this time next year? It is safe to say that the increase usage of bandwidth has continued, and there is no sign of it slowing down. More and more houses and business will use broad (or broader) band as we go forward. This trend never stopped, the capacity just got ahead of it. The spending on networking/telecom has come to a grinding halt with almost no new capacity being added. Worse yet, companies that could have provided capacity have downsized to survive, thus not being able to meet any sudden surge in demand. And lastly there has been a significantly reduction in innovation due to poor financial shape of telecom equipment companies and lack of venture funds. I remember that in the trough of both past two semi cycles, everyone said there is enough manufacturing capacity for the next several years to only face a shortage 9 months later. I predict the depression in telecom will come to a sudden end and there will be a new companies creating billion for their shareholders. I am looking for somewhere to put my money and leaning toward the metro side of optical stocks. I can’t see the market appetite for telecom stock get any worse. Any thought or guidance is appreciated. Mani

About half of the world denounces suicide bombers but also denounces Israel, a third supports suicide bombers and denounces Israel, and maybe a third (and I think I'm being generous) really supports Israel. That really does break out to most of the world. -Z
