Hi David, The best English language publication on Hong Kong matters is scmp.com and searching on the issue of "right of abode" will yield lots of articles per day. The local press and possibly most people have sympathy for the abode seekers, and allowing them to stay even make economic sense. OTOH, allowing them to stay will possibly open the flood gate to 'millions' more, which I doubt, as the mainland economy is much more vibrant than HK's.
