Not bad.

I did that one straight. The follow up was more tongue in cheek so please don't take offense.

See, I listen. At least most of the time.

Nice to see you on a Saturday...

it is disruptive to be provocative through aggressive challenge of entrenched beliefs and customs

I would suggest that the West has grown and progressed precisely because Western thought has encouraged the aggressive challenge of entrenched beliefs. The worship of entrenched belief is one of the main reasons for stagnation in traditional Eastern cultures. Only by constant and aggressive challenge in a free marketplace of ideas can our ideas and methods continue to grow and expand. Where would Western thought and science be today if thinkers and scientists had not aggressively challenged entrenched beliefs?

Of course many of the challenges are frivolous, ridiculous, or just plain dumb. That's a given. Those will eventually fall by the wayside; those with merit will provoke new growth. If we decide that it is not good to challenge entrenched belief simply because some of the challenges are irritating, we encourage stagnation and abandon the very method that has brought Western thought to the point it has reached.
