To hell with thread hygiene. Sterile threads are dead threads.

There is a point where I will agree with you. That point is somewhere out around Evile. It's nowhere near where you want it. I believe this is simply an attempt by you to force discussions into the channels that you want it to flow. For your own purposes. So your own personal beliefs cannot be challenged.

You want fawning respect for religion? That's what Ask God is for.

Karen and I have a concern with thread hygiene, and the desire to keep wrangling to a minimum.

It's pretty clear to me that trying to toe a line for fair debate does not result in improved thread hygiene.

On the one hand, there's much resistance to the suggestion of constraints--and annoyance at the suggestors of such constraints.

On the other hand, a sincere effort to toe the line does not provide any protection from charges of offense. It may even make them more likely.

I don't see any net improvement in thread hygiene, do you? It was an interesting exercise, but...
