willcousa,

The Gateway machine used an Intel processor did it not?

The Intel errata is horrible on the P4 compared to the AMD XP.

No wonder the guy is POed.

Intel building chips STILL containing huge number of errata and trying to cover it up with FUD instead of honestly fixing the problems.

Steve

Re: You cannot support your statements concerning either Gateway or EMachines

Really. Are you claiming Gateway didn't drop AMD or are you claiming eMachines didn't add AMD to its lineup?

As far as which company has been doing better in terms of reputation and reliability, and which is slipping, it is a judgement call, but I think it's a reasonable one. Certainly eMachines is doing a lot better lately - probably the main reason being that they've been using better power supplies, but it's also since they added AMD as a supplier.

As far as Gateway slipping - well, that story is something of an indication, isn't it?

Willcousa - Re:"You [Dan3] cannot support your statements concerning either Gateway or EMachines with facts..."

This is just more of Dan3's intellectual dishonesty. He throws out some "customized facts" and then blathers on.

It is probably best to laugh at the blather, just like laughing at a puppy chasing its tail.
