You are describing a libertarian posture. Although allied, I do not think it is necessarily conservative. As for new ideas, I said nothing about "new". Some may be, but that is not the focus. The focus is on promoting a clearer appreciation of our patrimony. For example, one might show how the idea of Natural Law can help to inform revision of the positive law, and serve the ends of justice, or look at the development of the idea of sovereignty.
