short RIM - Research in Motion

RIM will release earnings and host a conference call on Tuesday after the close.

IMO this is one of the last "pure bubble" stocks with a P/S of over 7 and losing money on a 37% gross margin which is slowly getting squeezed.

They're going to have to put a lot of "spin" on their outlook if this stock is going anywhere but down. I'd like RIM management to explain how they expect to turn an operating profit some day. PALM, the market leader in PDAs, is losing money.

On the plus side, RIM can continue losing money for 15 years without running out of it.

Al, thanks for all the work you put in on these contests.

- Gofer
