If you read my posts, you'll see that I do not think that Debka is in any sense a pristine source. I've said in the past that it can be sensationalistic.

Assuming you are correct about nukes, how can you be so sure about dirty nukes? Or bio. and chem. warfare, in which Saddam has been proven to engage?

I suspect that the same kind of debate took place in the 1930s. Important yet naive personages (Charles Lindbergh and Joseph P. Kennedy come to mind, there are others) simply refused to recognize the danger posed by genocidal leaders with aspirations worthy of the most deluded megalomaniac.
