I wish it were so... The darn Al Qaeda thing is world wide. The OWNED (for practical purposes) Afghanistan, but the organization... doesn't depend on any single location in order to survive and function.

I don't have time now to look up the exact quote, but it is more like a "specter... over the planet... a specter of... militant Islamism".

I think it's called the Pax Americana. We were trying to quit the job when 9/11 happened.

Nobody else will step up to the plate, so we have to do it.
