Pricing mismatches are precisely times to buy a stock. There is no evidence that the earnings will be more or less than .02 per share. However, a depressed stock price is a as pure a reflection of bad historical earnings as any. That is, if you feel that there is value in the management, product and service mix, strength of the company, technology and people, then you will see that this may be an historic place to jump in and buy the stock. Unfortunately, capital IT spending I fear will be far less robust in the next few years than it was in the past ten years. This said, I believe that there will not be any significant rebound in Sun Microsystems stock until 2005 if not a day sooner.
