Classic example of how to get into trouble during, er, dialog: use an analogy, metaphor, or example. Even if it's an apt one, it provides material, like scriptures, that people can pick at. Every one is a potential red herring. Look at me, I can't even discuss how not to get into trouble with analogies, metaphors, and examples without using an analogy. Sigh.

Asymmetrical dialog, it is.
