addendum...oops...a correction is needed:

"to me, if Naz is at 1770 in Feb, and AMAT is at $40; then naz is at 1770 in April, and AMAT is at $50 ---- if this does not say a stock is bullish......"

change that to $50 in April; not $40.

orkrious...when exactly is a stock bullish?

I guess to me it's all a matter of perspective and whether or not you are in a bull or bear market. I think we are in a bear market and the semi equips are grossly overvalued. Consequently, they are good shorts, especially as we enter a time of seasonal weakness.

Yeah, had you known they were going to outperform the Nasdaq, you would have bought them. But to say AMAT is a buy here because they have been outperforming the Nasdaq, while ignoring the fundamental reality that they are priced for peak earnings while at trough earnings, is a mistake IMHO. Combine that with the fact that we are entering the seasonally weakest 1/2 of the year for the market, and you have to be nuts to go long these stocks for all but a scalp. That's all I'm saying.
