Gopher, Re: "You don't have anything like enough evidence to be spreading FUD about the 2200+."

I didn't say that the 2200+ was going to be another Pentium III 1.13GHz scandal. I said that it is showing similar signs.

At 1.8GHz
- It is a higher speed than AMD said they were going to use at .18u
- AMD is getting desperate because their .13u process is late
- The first account was that the 1.8GHz sample failed to reach 3.9% above its rated frequency

Margins are being cut close, and AMD wants something to put themselves ahead of Intel. As an AMD investor, I think that they should wait until they have a more reliable launch, with .13u in June, or however long it takes. Trying to push out these high bins on the older process is making me feel more cautious about the stock. But It looks as if you choose to ignore the signs, and call it FUD, instead. Whatever makes you feel better, I guess.

Re: Nope. In the case of the P3
- the voltage was jacked up
- it needed a special cooling system
- it crashed.

If AMD would spec a Tcase of 60 degrees, like Intel did for the PIII, the Athlon XP would probably be a 2GHZ chips.

You don't have anything like enough evidence to be spreading FUD about the 2200+."

When did "evidence" ever matter to these "scripted" Intc's???
