Ken, Quicken-Deluxe is just a one-time purchase, transactions don't come into play. They have a new version every year, but you can generally keep using the old one if they don't convince you to upgrade. I've upgraded once in six years. Of course Turbotax will get your money yearly.

QD can download from many brokers (including Ameritrade) but I don't know specifically about Datek. You can do it weekly, monthly, or whenever.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Careful with Quicken as for some strange reason these clowns havnt realized that average people short sell, and their program has trouble pulling the data accurately. IM a rather fast typist, so after spending a few hours tryign to edit the corrupted data I just killed the program, threw it in the garbage and went back to manually entering all my trades into turbo tax..

Of course if you dont short stocks youll probably not have a problem..
