OT .. So I disagree with the PUBLISHED inflation numbers just as I disagree with the cakes cooked by the labor reporting people. As a side note...do you know what it would cost the social security fund if they admitted we had inflation? They can't afford to admit there is inflation.

The SSA learned of your opinion on published inflation numbers .. so they said 'what the hell', let's just ignore inflation. <g>

The 2002 OASDI (Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance) Trustees Report assumes CPI inflation rates between 2% and 4% for the next 75 years. (Whether it lasts 75 years is another topic.) Also, the social security has paid COLAs every year since 1975.

So what are you talking about?
