we've been very humane and decent to the Arab world. That's also true - Americans are humane and decent people, as most of the rest of the world knows. The leadership are not the cause of our humanity, strength and decency. Our problems are caused by government secrecy, allowing leadership and powers to accrue in a sociopathic direction. The ability to assassinate OBL types doesn't depend on a strong CIA. In fact, the stronger the CIA and other intel services get the less likely OBL types will be assassinated, and the more likely these will be used as pawns for the larger Geopolitical Nintendo so beloved by sociopathic secret police warlords throughout history. It's the secrecy that causes corruption. That's almost the entire difference between democracy and totalitarianism, the release of public information for public participation. There's no doubt in my mind that a competent, honest spec ops group can take down almost any individual or group of individuals in the world. I doubt whether it is a matter of "incompetence" when they fail. There is too much room for corruption to believe that.
