AMD is where many of the leaders of Digital's high end server program went when Digital began to implode. But it doesn't really matter. SUN has tons of experience in the server business, what it needs now is a partner with experience in the "fighting off Intel business" - and AMD has more than doubled its market share in the past 3 years by taking it in chunks from Intel.
