"How does this jive with Jerry's recent "Windows rulez" interview? (He repeatedly stated that Microsoft Windows had won, period, and was the future of computing. In servers as well as desktops)."

Remember, Jerry is basically nontechnical. As a visionary, he's a pretty good marketing suit.

He's giving the cheerleading slogan of the day. "Windows rulez, dude!"

Well, as for servers, tell that to all the server farms folks running BSD, Linux, and things like Apache. Tell it to IBM, which is promoting Linux as the core of its business strategy a whole lot more than Windows...and IBM seems to be doing pretty well in the server market. Tell it to Sun, which is still doing OK. Tell it to HP...

There's a reason we talk about Moore's Law and Noyce's invention of the integrated circuit, but not about "Sanders' Law." Besides the noneuphony, that is.
