SLRE is a speculative alternative energy stock that is researching a variant of the controversial cold fusion process, known as solid-state fusion. SLRE is a Canadian solar company that recently acquired a company called D2Fusion, which is working on bringing solid-state fusion to the market as a commercial product. This is about as speculative as stock investing gets, since cold fusion itself is not universally accepted by the scientific establishment at the moment.
