You may consider your average on LU to be under 3 if you factor in your other trades and NT hedge, however>> Uncle Sam does not see things the way you do. As you know, you will pay short term capital gains on your other trades and can not factor your underwater LU buys as losses until you sell them. I will give you credit for sticking to your guns on LU. I believe that you started buying when it was around 7. It does seem unusual for an investor with your means to by only common. LU bonds might offer more security in case LU bks.
