I never heard of Americans massacring Brits during a religious ceremony for the express purpose of shock value. I also never heard of any American calling for the elimination of England from the face of the earth. The American revolutionaries wanted independence. Palestinians want independence. Hamas wants domination. And Hamas is perfectly willing to turn a righteous cause into an evil one. Why can't you see the distinction? Tenchusatsu, first of all the colonists did kill civilians. I can't say that they intentionally targeted them; then again, there were not a lot of civilians to target. Clearly, the living conditions between colonial America and present day Israel do not match up well......and so it some sense, its difficult to draw parallels. As for a colonist not calling for the end of England, I beg to differ........they burned King George in infamy......by the time war broke up, tempers were flying very high and the hate was thick enough to cut. Of course, they wanted England destroyed......repression and anger will do that to humans. My question to you......why can you not see that the Palestinian people want their own country? Housewives are willing to die for that cause and yet you turn a blind eye. And don't tell me that Arafat turned down the chance for independence. I think he less and less reflects the desires of his people. Just like you, I hate what the destruction of the Hamas/suicide bombers are doing but that does not cause me to forget what the Palestinians want. And whether you or anyone else likes it, they will not be ignored........much like our forefathers would not be ignored. ted
