I am a disappointed Dell owner. I think the PC is pretty good (though it really is a commodity and it really doesn't matter who you buy from).
However, when I had a few difficulties, their customer service sucked badly. I had a good conversation with the guy helping me, and he said the problem is really Dell. They don't put a premium on customer service. He'd been let go and rehired 3 times in 2 years. He said it was pretty lucrative for him, because he got severance packets that were pretty good, but no stability. Hence Dell lacks continuity and the service people have no job security. Whenever Dell looks like they'll miss earnings, he said, they scale back on customer service to save a penny or two.
Sad state of affairs, if you ask me.
