I've spent some time mulling over the likely effects of the CEO change. If you'd asked me last fall, I would have told you to expect an impairment charge with the first annual goodwill review. Like you, I thought Palmisano would want to start with a clean slate. I'm wrong so far, but I'm ready to believe that the preannouncement -- first since '91, so I hear -- could motivate some tough decisionmaking. As you say, time will tell; I'm waiting with bated breath for the quarterly report and conference call. -mb
