EDS reports $.72 a share - beats estimate by $.01 but revenue is light $5.23B versus estimate of $5.7. Overall, revenue up about 8%. Backlog and pipelines are growing and EDS is growing and gaining marketshare. Operating margins continue to improve. EDS showed a quarterly chart of operation margins from 1Q99 to current quarter. The chart started at 7.7% and now stands at 11.5%. This chart basically said that something is very right at EDS and trends are definitely up. The CEO said there was another $1B in productivity savings in the next 12-18 months.
