Because, for one thing, the possibility (and I will proffer it as a possibility) that IT systems just might allow "Extraordinary Popular Delusions And The Madness Of Crowds..." to become universal and synchronous via the Age of Information. And then the Keepers and Disseminators of Information will be caught out of the loop as XX Sigma Events are found more commonplace than their systems allow. Their parameters will be desecrated as the market is found to be bigger than IT. It is the ultimate contrarian play, but the timing is obscure: "the best laid plans of mice and men gang aft aglay..."
