Andreas has suggested economic interdevelopment, and I agree with that approach. Its time for Israel to share its knowledge and wealth with its neighbors. No handouts but technical assistance.....placing plants/factories on the border and employing Palestinians like NAFTA...helping the Arabs to reclaim the desert as they have. I know that when the economic disparity between the Arabs and the Israelis is lessened, the violence will lessen as well.

So is the moral of the story that a way for impoverished nations to convice some fanatics amongst them to tie explosives around their waist, and kill some Jews or Americans, which will lead to this sharing of wealth.

Joe, what is wrong with the sharing of the wealth? It has been shown over and over when the poor are given a piece of the pie, all benefit.........or do you think the longest US peacetime expansion during the 90's was a fluke? For the first time in decades, more people left the welfare roles than entered them.

Israel has an opportunity to bring its neighbors up with her. Rather than spending its well earned scheckels on military equipment, it could spend them on developing new markets for its products. Even a staunch conservative like you must see the benefit of that.

Hmm... Interesting. What do you think the US policy toward countries that are poor, but friendly with the US. Should we nuke them?

Nuke them, of course...it will teach them to not be so stupid to trust a super power.
